Hi y'all
One thing I liked about windows xp and I can't find it in 2K.
The color depth of the icons in the system tray seems to be somewhat lower than the one of the desktop.
Is it possible to change this, so that I can have full color icons in the system tray?
I know this is a luxury...
Hi all
Does anyone know how to allow outgoing rdp connections trough ISA?
So when I'm at work, I want to access my home server using terminal services from my workstation. That does not work.
When I try to connect from the server, everything works just fine.
Any idea's?
* Open ISA management (start - programs - microsoft isa server - isa management)
* Rightclick your servername (the name of the computer ISA is running on) en choose properties
* On the General tab, you can find the text; type. Behind that text you will find the type of server you are running...
I edited permissions in the domain security policy and domaincontroller security policy, but what do I have to do to enable them? Because if I go wacht in local security policy, the effective policy setting is not the one I set up.
any idea's?
first and for all, thanks for your patience.
the problem occurred right after installing w2k sbs.
I have read the solution of MS, but I think the local policy is configured on the domain controller if you have a domain? or am I wrong?
Anyways, on Domain Security Policy I already checked it...
I don't want to permit administrative rights to users, even not on their own pc's.
And in the local security policy (of the user pc I suppose?) I cannot change those values.
Any idea?
Tnx in advance!
Hello
I just reinstalled our w2k sbs server.
If I try to log on as a regular user to the domain (from another pc) I get "interactive logon is disabled on the local computer". But when I add the user in AD to the Domain Admin group, log on takes place without any problem.
I don't want to grant...
Hi y'all,
we are working in an exchange environment. The boss wants to share his contacts with all the employees.
So far, so good. I have given the correct permissions to all the users. But...
Is it possible to make that adress book the default one? So if anyone adds something to the adress...
Hi all,
Our mailserver has been set up to allow anonymous access. I think that is the reason it is listed in a few blacklists on the net.
If I disable anonymous access, no external mail is sent.
I'm using exchange 2000.
does someone have any idea?
Hi Everyone,
our mailserver is listed as an open relay, but I set it up to only relay from local IP's. anyhow, it is listed in ordb.org and njabl.org ... You will all surely understand I don't want that =).
Can someone provide good hyperlinks to make the server secure, or does someone wants to...
Mark,
Again, thank you for your enlightning answer. Just by checking out this forum, I already learned a lot. So really thanks.
About our company; the goal of using ISA here is also to block certain types of traffic (streaming audio and so on). So if I understand you correctly, the use of ISA...
Hi,
Indeed, I'm just getting started in serverthings. I have quite good experience in desktop systems, but just getting started at servers... And indeed, extremely willing to learn...
I'll have a look at the links you provided. Tnx for all the help!
Tnx dearingkr, for putting a new sight on this all. I'd like to add some "comments".
our SBS 2000 server has been installed by a "professional company". That happened before I started to work here. I noticed that they just left us with the default settings of all programs installed. For...
It's a FlowPoint/2025-12 ATM25 Router. Can you do anything with that info?
If not, I'll contact my ISP in the morning. (It's night here at the moment)
Greets,
Jente
Tnx for the fast reply. But we do not have access to the routerfunctionality of the modem. All that is remotely configured by our ISP (otherwise we could change the subnet manually). Is there any other way without having to ask our ISP for that change? And if there istn't, what motivation can I...
Mark,
First I would like to thank you for your fast response. I just "discovered" this forum, and I'm glad to be here.
Currently I use one NIC in that server. But since the DHCP-server of the modem/router has got the IP 192.168.1.1 and gives IP from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.14 I don't think...
Yes they can. Altough, it depends:
* If you have Windows 2000 SBS (and only then!) you need an optional installation disk to activate the extra licenses. That disk is operating system dependant, so make sure you order one for Windows 2000!
* In any other case, only the license for Windows 2003...
Hi all,
The current network topology at our company is the following;
The internet modem contains a router for several PC's. This is remotely managed by our ISP. All clients (including our Windows 2000 SBS)are connected to that router. Our ISP has set up a subnetmask of 255.255.255.240, to...
