Hi, I am just trying to make a couple of small changes to someone's site...but it is built with tables and mouseovers made in Dreamweaver I guess and I'm not used to that way of building sites.....I am trying to add in another item into the nav menu top right. Greying out area in a map

Hi - Am a newcomer to Illustrator - so need help with the basics. What is the best way to do this? I have a many layered 2 colour map. One layer is a vector line that marks out a boundary on the map, enclosing a small area in the middle. I would like to be able to 'grey out' the whole area...

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Cheers PHV, but I have run into trouble..... I have this in the BeforeUpdate of my main Form: If Trim(Me!Interactionssubform.Form!Duration & "") = "" Then MsgBox "Please enter a duration for this client. Thank you." Cancel = True End If But I get the error: Cannot find the field 'Duration'...

Ensure data is entered into a subform field.

Hi there people, I want to make sure my user fills in a particular control (duration) on a continous record subform (interactionssubform) within my form. The subform is on another page if that has any implications.... I just want to stop them going to a new or another record until they have...

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Hi there people - hoping you'll still pick up this thread - I have related problem that I am stumbling on...... How do I apply the same method to make sure my user fills in a particular control (duration) on a continous record subform (interactionssubform) within my form. The subform is on...

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Hey, thanks. Realised I was concentrating on putting the code in BeforeUpdate of the field textbox rather than of the form (as you first suggested PHV, but which I misread) Doing this gives me the result I want. Thanks again Andrew.

    Using combobox to filter form.

Hi Ken, Have finally got around to having a go at this. I think I am nearly there...I have followed your instructions, though I think my initial explaination of what I wanted was rather unclear. If can just explain what I have now: I want to use a Cbox (CboClientselect) to show records...

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Cheers PHV, but this seems to just do the same thing, ie. it only works when you enter then delete a date, and then try to move on. On a new record it will let you initially leave the date blank without the message box displaying.... ?

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Hi there guys....I hope you might still pick this thread up. Just realised that this method to stop the user leaving the field empty only seems to work if the date is entered and then deleted; only then will the message box appear if the field is then left blank, and then the user is prevented...

    Using combobox to filter form.

Sorry Ken, don't really understand. Can you tell me in general terms the steps I need to take to use the method you say? (My form is bound to my main table (not a query). I just want to be able to display certain records in my form depending on whether the exitstatus field of a record is...

    Using combobox to filter form.

HI, I want my form (bound to my main table of clients) to only show particular records depending on which of four options my user selects in the combobox Cboclientselect (on the same form). The combo box row source is supplied by Tblclientselect which has 2 cols: typeofclientID (autono., long...

Running sum of hrs:mins (sorry! plase be nice!)

Cool. Works now. Thanks alot PH!!!!!!! One thing though, if the total comes to say, 121 mins, using this method is there a way to display it on the form as: 2:01 ...rather than: 2:1 ...as it currently does? A.

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

Thanks people. txaccess's method works, except that when the user navigates to another record, but when the msgbox displays clicking "OK" clears the data already filled in the form. How do I stop it doing this? Playing with beforeinsert & beforeupdates PHV...ta.. Andrew.

Running sum of hrs:mins (sorry! plase be nice!)

Thanks PHV, I now have this as the control source of the textbox on my form: =([SumOfDuration]*1440)/60 & ":" & ([SumOfDuration]*1440) Mod 60 But this gives me the following displayed in my textbox: hrs (as decimal) : mins So say if my durations for this client are 01:00, 2:30 and 23:00, it...

Prevent user going to next rcd until date entered.

HI, If I want to prevent my user from navigating (using the default buttons) to the next record until they have entered a date into the field 'Registrationdate', what do I need to do other than using the code below, which is fine for an initial prompt, but obviosly won't stop them going to the...

Running sum of hrs:mins (sorry! plase be nice!)

HI ken, Yes, when I sum the durations I get the right answer in days as decimal, and then *24 as hrs, but I understand what you say. The durations never go over 24 if that is the reason. Say my user enters 2:30, meaning the duration (of an interview with a client) lasted for 2hrs 30mins, can't...

Running sum of hrs:mins (sorry! plase be nice!)

Ah yes, sorry, They enter hh:mm into a date/time field called 'Duration'. I then calculate: sum[duration]*24 in a query to show a running total of hrs as a decimal in my form, but is there a way I can calc. this total to show the result as hrs and mins? (It is easier for my users to enter a...
