    database splitter error

Well, Rick, again, thanks for responding. For the record, it has me as Goyo1 (spanish for Greg), then says programmer. I hope you can already tell that I'm a little bit overrated! I'm just dangerous enough to...be dangerous! I opened up the front end, and the switchboard opened. I closed it...

    database splitter error

Appreciate the response here. But a question, how did the switchboard items get into the back end, or how do I get it out? I'm just trying to split a database for the first time. Not knowing exactly what I'm doing, but I do now show a backend named file. But I'm not sure if it works (since the...

    Run-time error 3343

Here I am answering my own problem! Evidently, I caused a problem when I closed the database improperly. I clicked on the backend and microsoft asked me it I wanted it to do a repair, I did, and it fixed the problem. Guess I'm alright now.

    database splitter error

I am trying to split another database, and after I name the backend, I get an error "The database engine could not lock table "switchboard items" because it is already in use by another person or process". I'm using access 2000 on windows 2000 os. Anyone have any idea what went wrong?

    Run-time error 3343

I am using access 2000 on windows 2000 pro os, have a front end/back end program that works fine, but this morning I try to log on and I get the error, "Run-time error 3343 - Unrecognized database format F:\share\my documents\pipdata.mdb. I try it on another machine and get a runtime error 3043...

    Access mdb file growing

Have seen an .ldb file before, only 1 kb in size, sometimes its there, sometimes not. It's not now. We both logon with the same user name and password, so nothing unique there. so I'm back to being stumped. Heck, hate to keep bothering you, don't know who else to bother, but I have a toll...

    Access mdb file growing

I found the systems.mdw file, but there is no .ldw file anywhere. Neither on her's or on mine. I tried coping my front end to her's, but that didn't work either. I'm stumpped.

    Access mdb file growing

Bob, I did the shortcut and ran it, took it from 121mg to less than 1. Wow, what a change. Thank you very much for the help on that. But now have another problem. We have two computers networked (4 actually, but just trying the 2nd), and she cannot logon the database. Gets runtime error 3051...

    Access mdb file growing

Bob, certainly appreciate the quick response. This has been bothering me for some time now, and my IT/golfing buddy recommended this forum. I guess I forgot to mention I am using A2k, and do have a front/back end database. I am attempting the shortcut now to compact the backend, and will let...

    Access mdb file growing

I helped co-write an access database. For some reason, the data file has started to grow. it was 100mg less than a month ago, and now its 120mg. It seems to have doubled in size in the last few months for some reason. I have repaired and compacted it, but nothing has changed. Any ideas?
