yeah, I dont think that is pertaining to ARCserve 2000 workgroup or workstation edition!
It always gives a "Unable to logon to database engine" DATABASE=ARCSERVE, EC=-2005 andthen in the job queue section it reports a LogID of *8 but says the last result was "Finished".

Well it could be that the case is giving off the harmonics of the CPU fans? as far as replacing this server, that is not do-able. Im wondering if anyone here has experienced the same wobble-humming sound?

well for one, the security & administrative templates are an example of why 2003 is better... you can compare exisiting configurations to new ones and see if it will work out allright..

Running a simple network, with like 6 workstations and 1 server, the server has most of the shared data on it, not too too much, uses DHCP for the users once they authenticate.
Question here is, am I better off just buying a new hard drive (because the other one has been on forever) and...
Yeah, ive noticed, it takes like almost 2 hours to do 4 gigs total, very slow if you ask me.... anyways have you tried restoring information from the tapes? or even a full os with ARCserve2000? aswell, how can I view the files that I've backed up on the tape?

I have an APC power supply, should I of received software and a connector to the computer for it??? as far as i recall I have just plugged the PC into the proper plug on the APC and plugged the APC to the wall?

Hi there, I managed to get a copy of ArcSERVE2000 workstation edition, the back-up programs looks pretty user-friendly, just a question here. Has anyone had extreme problems doing a disaster recovery or file restore off a travan tape drive?
