Thanks Mike for your fast turnaround. But I want to ask whether I can use remaining 2 wires (i.e. 4 and 5) out of 4,5,7and 8 for transmitting voice. So that I can use to connect with RJ-11 as well as RJ-45 to transmit the voice as well as data from the same single cable. Mike, Is the above... -

Hi all, This is Nadeem from India. My question is --- Why CAT5 have 8 wires ( 4-pairs ) when actually only 4 wires ( 2-pairs) are used for data. i.e 1,2,3 and 6------Used for Data 4,5,7 and 8------are not used Can somebody help me to clarify this thing. Thanks Nadeem.
