Wow, all good options, The GIMP is fine, but not for newbies. Paint Shop Pro and Fireworks are both great choices. The tool you choose will be the one you're most comfortable with (o, such sage words :-D) I reccomend that you opt to save your files using the .png format, rather than either .jpg...- Sparkyt

Using motion tweening to "zoom in" on an image
The code needs something to trigger its start before it will run. I was thinking that you might want to place the original symbol and the enlarged one x frames apart on the same time line, and then create a mask layer above this time line and have the mask animated, which gives you full control...- Sparkyt
