Seems as if your bash question has been answered, as far as the script editor goes. you could use vi or ed as DumTech mentioned earlier. I kinda agree with jimbopalmer, maybe this NIC you have doesnt even work at all. Did you try pinging yourself? (ie: localhost) or such. if the DNS features are wrong i suggest you try a different method. It could be that your mother board isnt capatable with this new nic?
