Hi, all, thank you for your replies. I finally fixed the problem.
I installed another LAN card and worked. But after a reboot, the problem came back.
What happen was that I installed a DVD ROM drive and a Pine SiS 315 32MB PCI VGA card at the same time. I made a mistake and fried the DVD ROM...
Hi,
I can't ping any address including 127.0.0.1.
I uninstalled the Tcp/IP protocol; rebooted.
Then reinstall the Tcp/Ip without reboot; then I could ping 127.0.0.1 but could not ping any other address.
However, after anyother reboot, it back to square one - could not ping 127.0.0.1 or any...
Hi, all,
When I installed a DVD ROM drive, I mistakenly inserted the power plug in the wrong way (I know that was a big no-no). I fried the drive. But after that, I can't ping anything, even 127.0.0.1. All showed timeout. I checked the host file; 127.0.0.1 was there ok. My connection (two...
Mirtheil,
Thank you for your reply. I did not make my question clear. We are using an accounting package that uses Btrieve 6.15 on NW3.12 server and have the DDF files. but we don't have the import wizard, because the application does not come with it.
We have Sqlscope, MS access ODBC can...
I am going to replace the HD on the netware 3.12 server. In the volume setup screen, I can pick 4K, 8K or 16K block. The default is 4K. Should I go with the 4K or pick other values? Why and why not?
Thank you in advance.
Gary
JCruze063,
The main feature of W2K server is its Active Directory which uses TCP/IP. To understand that you have to know DNS and DHCP. To have a handle of the whole network, you need to know subnettig. You may want to visit the following web site to learn about it. As a prevoius poster said...
Thank you for your reply. Our data files are really big; One of the files is 1.3G; I used MS Access ODBC to check the records and knew that before the deletion, there were >880K records in this file. After the deletion, it only had 230K records. I think it may yeild almost 1G space, if I can...
Hi, I am using NW3.12 with Solomon 2.06 accounting packing which is using Btrieve database. After the application deleted the records, the file (table) did not seem to shrink. I want to use Butil to rebuit the file so that I can claim the usused spaces.
How should I do that? Would the rebuilt...
Hi, I am also using Solomon 2.06 on NW3.12 server. The guy before me had gone and left no manual. I only have the CD. Now, the data files have grown very large, the Intran.dat is 2.1G and the Artran.dat is 1.4G. I did a delete old transitions in Solomon, but after the deletion, the files were...
After I issued the load butil -stat <Brtrieve file> at NW3.12 console, I could only see the last page of the display. How can I pause the display, like "|more" in DOS, to see the whole display one page at a time?
Thank you.
Gary
I have a 18G SCSI HD with NW3.12, but only the first 8G is available in SYS volumn. I read in the forum and looks like I can create a netware volumn above the 8G.
I want to know what is the different between Sys volumn and the netware Volumn.
Thank you.
