    How secure is 256 bit WEP

    I thought that 256 WEP is not a standard, but specific to a vendor. If so, you'll have to ask the vendor (good luck!).

    I suggest you read the research at http://www.isaac.cs.berkeley.edu/isaac/wep-faq.html and decide for yourself. It really depends on what traffic you are sending and what the down side is to potentially having someone sniff the data or inject data into your network.
