Has anyone here got there Solaris 11 Cert yet?
If you have was it recent and where materials/books did you use to study.
For some reason the OCP 1Z0-822 book that was supposed to come out in Feb has publication canceled (Micheal Ernest)
Read the Bill Calkins book but it is a lacking a little...
SunSolve is not really shut down it is called MOS but you have to have a valid contract with Oracle in order to access patches, packages, and drivers. Without a valid contract you can't get them.
never mind another 1 of the guys in the group dug it up in some old notes.
basically
need to create the replica on the device
then
metainit and create the raid device
then newfs /dev/md/dsk/d# (whatever you name it)
if you try to newfs /dev/dsk/c#t#d#s# you will destroy the replicas so...

Ken Cunningham;
there was a thread from 2009 where you were asking about creating a filesystem on a partition where a replica existed. The link is dead but hoping you may have kept a copy of the procedure.
Believe me I know this is not a good idea but I need to fix something...
There are plenty that offer Solaris support but not Sun Cluster support. Checked on that 1 and nothing for Sun Cluster..
If you search for Sun Cluster support etc etc you will see what I mean.. all leads back to Oracle themselves..
That is why I was asking if anyone currently utilizes a...
hey Sam thanks for responses..
I should have made it a little clearer sorry.. Sun Cluster is already installed and running and company wondering if there are other options for technical support on Sun Cluster rather than sticking with Oracle.
Have to entertain their questions but after 2hrs of...
Is there anyone in the US that utilizes a third party service provider for their Sun Cluster software? I need to come up with some options for our company and having difficulty finding any.. Not that I think it would be wise to go outside Oracle with that but have to come up with some options.
Apologize I was thinking of the ultra 40..
However on ultra45 you still can not mix sas and sata drives, they must be 1 or the other.
So boot cdrom -s does not see them in format?
Is it possible that this drive was hardware raided?
Do you see the drive with probe-scsi-all from ok prompt...
Have seen this before.. These units either support SAS or SATA and you have to make sure you have the correct cabling. You can not mix SAS and SATA in these units. So most likely your cabling is wrong for the model drive you have.. Yes I agree totally stupid design.. I ran into this myself.
could be. and yes they are configured in 2 raid set from what I see.
do you want to use hardware raid or were you intending to use svm for mirroring?
Best decide now and we can fix things. If you do not want to use the on-board raid then we can remove them from raid set so they all show up as...
are these sun certified drives, meaning do they have the sun label on them? At this point just let it run but format can take a very long time(however does seem very lengthy). Did you configure them in a raid set or just as single drive..
meaning when you ran format did you see 4 drives or 1...
There is alot more to jumpstart than meets the eye
On the T5120
What OS version are you running?
Did you create and entry in /etc/ethers (on the T5120) for the T5220? (using the ethernet address found in banner command on T5220)
Depending if OS is Solaris 9 did you edit /etc/hosts and add...
on the T5220 type banner.. Mac is provided there called ethernet address. See in bold. You have to add that to /etc/ethers on you jumpstart server and give it a name then edit your /etc/inet/hosts file and provide the name you gave the system in your /etc/ethers and also assign an ip.
SPARC...
Tammy.. you will not need the keybrd and mouse you just use your laptop.
And no problem. I deal with these systems on a daily bases so any questions just post. I actually teach a class to our company field engineers on how to service Tseries and Sunfire systems so should be able to assist with...
you are using a vt terminal correct? that would be ascii based and keybrd is attached to the console. You would not be attaching a keybrd and mouse to the server. You are plugging the rj45 into the port market SERMGT and the bd9 or db25 into the vt terminal.
And correct no reboot should be...
the SER MGT ports pinout on the t5220 are 6 receive and 3 transmit. If the terminal was originally attached to the v240 serial mgt port (not the ttya port which is different pinout) then the same cable should work on the T5220. sun Service manual 820-2181-10 has information on the pinouts. Seems...
addonguy;
all the other drives are 146gb 10k 2gb fc so most disk1 should be the same. So any of those part#'s 005048422, 005048531, or 00504581 will work. They are cx-2g10-146 model#. Since it says removed you could also just pull the drive and look at part# or generally they have the part# on...
