Just to finish this thread, and also help TimK01, who is also facing the same problem as me, I manage to solve this problem with my computer.
It seems my adapter (on-board 3Com) had the Maximum Frame Size set at 1510. Since I am using ADSL broadband, I set it down to 1492 to match the ADSL MTU...

I also did a fresh installation of Win XP, which should wipe out any virus or trojans that there are. And after the fresh installation, I turned off the other computer so it would not trojanize the newly installed Win XP...
Just to add to the above post - After I re-installed Win XP Pro, I shut down the old computer (just in case it may have some kind of trojan that spreads through the lan), and then started the browser, but I still get Web site Found, and no further download.

I have a LAN with a ADSL router - Allied Data CopperJet 810 Rev. 1 with 2 computers on the LAN. One of the computer is an old PIII 800 Win 2000 Pro, and the other is a P4 2.4 Win XP Pro. I setup the router using the old Win 2000 computer, and through it I can surf the internet, ping hostnames...

I can ping my DNS servers, yahoo.com, my router, and all web-sites. I can also send/receive mail through Outlook Express. But when I start Internet Explorer 6, it says Web-site Found...
