I hope this isn't too strange but here it is. We are on Exchange 2003. We need to have all email from external sources to be forwarded to an employee's supervisor (which I know how to do)but not have internal emails also forwarded to the supervisor (which is what I don't know).

pbxn-- I did discover that we have a Fluke MicroScanner but it doesn't find the "little" things that cause "big" problems.

I recieved one quote so far. (If you can call it a quote). At $125 per man per hour, and "hafta use two guys to do the job, maybe two, three hours" I don't have a lot of confidence in this company. Three hours, two men, $750. Not counting pulling new cable at $110 each plus $.35 per foot of...
I have recently taken over an existing network which has been having "connectivity" problems for over 6 months. This network has 42 drops teminated on a patch panel and patched to a HP Procurve 4000m switch. Several of the ports keep reporting CRC and Alignment errors. The majority of the cable...
I have a single server with Win NT and nine workstations,(win98, win2000 and WinXP). The Server hardware is almost 8 years old and is finally going to be replaced by a Dell PowerEdge with Win2k3. The NT server will be retired after the new one is in place. What would the easiest way to do this...
I had to change the IP subnet for a site. It wasn't difficult but you have to have a very detailed plan of action to make sure you don't miss anything. DHCP Scope, Outlooklients if you are using IP address instead of Exchange Server Name, IP address in the printers and the print servers, any...
If you are the last one out of the building you could use Computer Management console to check the "Open files" under "system tools">>>"shared Folders"> to see who has what files still open as well as the ability to disconnect the user from them file if necessary.

If I recall, on HP desktops a continuous beep at power on indicates a faulty power supply. A long beep (that does stop after a couple seconds) is faulty, missing, or unseated RAM.

what i'd look for at this point are: what policies are in place that would require a connection to the primary server? folder redirection, software installation share points. What about printer connections? Is the PDCE also the print server? Are the user's home directories on the primary...

Just a check here but are the workstations attempting to connect to resources(esp mapped drives) on the Primary server? This would cause the longer logon times when the server is not available.

If my memory serves me well, Office is trying to access the CD containing the office installation files. If you installed from the network and used a mapped drive and that drive map is not available to the user then you would get this error also.
hope this helps

Goto "Start" "Help" on the index tab type "logging on, changing requirements for user name and password" That should give you enough information. Just make sure you know the password for the local administrator's account or have a user account on the local machine with administrator's rights...
Two ideas
#1 Use a script to map an additional drive G to "\\servername\dir"
you would then set your shortcuts to "G:\filename.exe" then when "dir" becomes "dir1" just change the script to map drive to "\\servername\dir1"
if that wouldn't work
#2 create the shortcut, copy it to the server...
