We have several XP Pro notebooks set to sync their My Documents folder to a Windows 2003 server using Offline Files. We are set to sync all files and folders when logging on and off the notebook. All of the machines are used within our office and in the users homes. All work flawlessly but one...
A new facility at work just installed a certified CAT 6 network. We set up WAP54G APs with Power Over Ethernet and are experiencing lockups on all APs (three total installed on the LAN) at various times of the day. All switches are Allied-Telesyn Gigabit. No issues with the same devices on...
We are dealing with an older domain controller that doesn't have enough hard drive space to upgrade from 200 to 2003. Plus, since I have eight WAN connected sites that need to be changed at different times, I have to continue running the old domain for them to be able to connect and remain...
I currently have one domain on a subnet of 10.140.0.0. I am bringing up a second domain forest on the same subnet to facilitate a domain name change for our company and to move from a Windows 2000 environment to a Windows 2003 environment. All hardware will be new, so creating the new domain...
joepc,
Have you used multiple netmeeting clients behind the firewall or was it for just one client. I can open the firewall ports but without one-to-one NAT on the internal clients, I'm not sure how customers from the outside would see the machines that were behind the firewall.
Thanks...
Has anyone ever had experiece with using Microsoft’s NetMeeting and the Sonicwall? I know that I can use one-to-one NAT and open ports to allow connectivity from the outside but I have over 325 clients that would like to use the application. This just isn’t going to work.
Someone told me that...
I have a question regarding folder redirection. I have recently set up a group policy enabling folder redirection of the My Documents folder on Windows XP notebooks to domain users home directories on a Windows 2000 server. I have also enabled offline files as my users want to be able to...
I am the sole system admin of a Windows 2000 domain. I recently hired an assistant administrator and have questions about setting them up within the Administrators group and limiting privileges. Since I have been the only user, I always used the Administrator account on the server. Now I want...
Thanks to all who assisted. I am up and running. My first issue was the subnet on serial interface. The service-module was also pre-set for 24 timeslots (I’m guessing this is the default?) My other problem was that my firewall had to be set to route to the 10.101.x.x network via router A’s...
jimmyzz,
I think this might be my problem. Both 1721s are behind a firewall which is behind another Cisco router. My network looks like this:
ISP -> Cisco 2501 -> Firewall ->Router A -> point-to-point T1 -> Router B
* Router A and B were recently added to the configuration to connect a new...
Whoops! I have adjusted for my error in router B's subnet mask. Unfortunately, I am still experiencing the same difficulty in pinging devices beyond each router's ethernet interface.
I am having difficulty routing traffic between two networks connected by a point-to-point T1. I am using two Cisco 1721 routers with T1 WICs. I cannot ping devices on either network across the T1. However, I am able to ping certain devices from the interface of either router. For example...
idontread,
Thank you for the response. I will set the IP on each of the serial interfaces and add the static routes. I am curious…when using a default static route (ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0) are specific IP addresses required on the serial interface? The “ip unnumbered” command sets the...
I have two Cisco 1721’s with WIC 1DSU-T1 V2 modules that will be connecting a leased, point-to-point T1 between two buildings on the same campus. The networks are both NAT with very generous subnets. Both 1721 routers are behind our main router which connects us to the Internet and both 1721’s...
