What adapters show up when you run ipconfig /all? Is the adapter that your cable modem is attached to coming up and is that the one with no DNS listed? You may want to try “ipconfig /?” to get the listing of all switches for that command and maybe try the switch /registerdns .
I’m not sure if you have the same winsock issue since your internet connection initially works and then you start receiving the errors after a while. You may want to verify that you still have an internet connection after getting the error by pinging a web address or sending and receiving mail...
