    Using a 7600 with Sonnet G3 card. Bought a LaCie 60Gb drive for backUp with Retrospect. Within a few days or a week the drive which only had about 2.5 Gb on it, says it has only 400Mb free. Retrospect then won't back up at night - "not enough room." LaCie reformatted the drive for me...

    Wierd characters appearing

    HI: I've had this problem for awhile - I think since OS 8.6 or 9.0. E-mails and Word docs as attachments coming from PC are translating some characters incorrectly. Mainly double quotes and dashes: an 'opening' double quote shows up as a 'closing' double quote, but it's sitting on the baseline...

    Have used Macs for years - including graphic design - Quark Xpress, etc. - Have many, many PostScript fonts. - However since starting to use OS 9.0.4 and now 9.1, it seems that everything that crosses over from PC world, i.e. e-mail, Word docs, etc. I get all kinds of crazy characters - quotes...
