Great, thanks. Sounds like we already dealt with the "pig factor" then when we upgraded to CE9. We had to upgrade our hardware (and licensing) after upgrading to CE9 in order to handle our batched scheduled reports.
new2ce,
How did your implementation of CE10 over CE9 go? I'm planning on upgrading this quarter so I'm just curious. I plan on a clean install on new machines though and then I'll migrate over. I'm not brave enough to upgrade over the existing machines.
NuffSaid,
How is your implementation of CE10 going? I'm probably going to be upgrading from CE9 to 10 this quarter and I'm curious if you've encountered any issues. I've already had to deal with the pig factor. CE9 required a lot more juice to run than CE85, esp with scheduled reports which...
According to Crystal Support this issue has not yet been resolved. The theory is that the duplicates are created in a clustered environment when the second APS is starting and a recurring job is already running. So the recurring job that is already running gets duplicated when the second APS...
We're experiencing the same issue. It started over the weekend. Have a ticket it in with Crystal support but no response yet. Running CE9 clustered and we have the same symptoms reported in this thread where we have a duplicate recurring schedules with usually a pending and a failed instance...
Someone posted a set of procedures last year that kills all users and then sets it to single-use only.:
Corran007 (Programmer) Sep 22, 2003
sure. i have a script that kills all connections to the datbase. what i would do is kill the conns, then put it in single user mode, then detach, copy...
I found this thread because I didn't like the default task names assigned. I tried it out in the disconnected edit and unless it's a small pkg I don't think it's worth it at all. Like the previous poster said it looks like you have to change it in more than one place so it's a lot of work.
Anyone have experience with WCS server.scripttimeout warnings in the event viewer? Since I moved my CE9 cluster into production last week I've been getting thousands of these warnings on one of the servers (there are two). I changed the scripttimeout key values to 360 from 90 and restarted the...
Re: Parameter limit of 50
I forgot to mention that the problem is isolated to the DHTML viewer in CE9. Below is from Crystal Kbase:
A report that has a parameter value with hundreds of default values is saved to Crystal Enterprise (CE) 9. In the Crystal Management Console, the option, 'Prompt...
You'd think CE would already have this functionality by now. It's a lot of fun administering CE "in the dark" isn't it? It's one of the reasons why I don't let users schedule and publish their own reports. Anway, like someone already said, CE10 is supposed to have a way to audit...
I would definitely install CE9 on another server like you're planning on doing instead of upgrading the existing one.
It does take CE9 longer to run reports than CE85. I installed CE9 on faster hardware and it actually ran reports slower than CE85 on the inferior server. It's not a big...
Just a couple things you should be aware of:
If you have any parameter drop down lists that are very long the max supported by CE9 is 50.
The Excel export drivers changed so you'll want to test any applicable reports to see how much work it will be to reformat them if necessary.
If you have...
I was about ready to post pretty much the same question after having to just 5 minutes ago give an underling freaking administrative rights to CE9 so that I'm not the only one able to create logins.
Anyone know if there is a way to give another user subadmin rights to create users and reset...
