    SBS 2003 Restore

There are bits and pieces of this request posted, but none that lay the steps out in order. I have a SBS 2003 Standard server that has failed. I have replaced the drives in question and everything is identical to the original hardware. The server supported 5 users, a couple of printers...

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

Feel like I'm beating a dead horse here ... Given this below of the query, what would have to change in order to only drop results after the 4th event given the best 4 out of 5 is the desired total? Ex. Let's say a team fishes 1,2,3 or 4 of the 5 events, then they should not have any results...

Being a manager - is it that obvious? [thumbsup2] I'm assuming that the new query will replace the last query in the series ... Thanks again for all your help! Doug

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

Here is a new spin ... How would you drop the lowest 2,3,etc. tournaments? Would you just run the "delete" section multiple times? Also, what if you wanted to also show the original number of events/points as well? As it stands now, just the information pertaining the the best x of y results...

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

I agree with your suggestion, but in our case most teams fish all the tournaments. We drop one just incase they have a bad night or can't fish one night for whatever reason. I've modified your final select and changed the avg(totalPoints) to become sum(totalPoints)/currentNum .... The...

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

Holy Cow - you guys are awesome!!! I leave for lunch and you have all this for me!!!! Do these queries take into account the fact that a team may not fish all tournaments and subsequently not have any results records for a given tournament? Doug

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

Let's say that over the course of the season there are 100 records in the results table. In those records are entries for the same team in different tournaments, etc. Won't that code will only list the top 4 records period, not top 4 results per team?

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

Sorry ... Remember back to high school or grade school and your overall grade in a class was based on an average of your test scores. Say you took 5 test all term, but the teacher dropped your lowest score - so your grade was based on your 4 best. Same concept here. I have a bunch of teams...

SQL "best x out of y" summary Query

All, I have a question. I have an application using SQL 2000 that stores tournaments, results, teams, etc. for a fishing league. It's comparable to a softball or golf league except with fishing tournaments instead. Anyway, we are coming to the end of the year and I need to start summarizing...

    RDP Text File View Problem

All, I have Terminal Services running on Windows 2003 Server Standard. I'm having trouble viewing some text files on Thin-clients connected to the TS. Problem does not happen when using a PC/RDP. Ex. Our management software allows a "print preview" by opeing the report in Notepad before...

New Exchange 2003 user needs advice regarding public calendar

As a logical follow-up to this question ... I have the folder created and everyone in my organization is updating the calendar. How can I create a shortcut in every user's Outlook so they can get to the calendar quicker? I know if you click/drag it just creates a copy calendar and that...

    Reporting Inbound Email

I have a user (the owner) that has asked me to find out if an email from someone has come into our Exchange 2K3 standard mail server. I don't want to "journal" messages or anything like that. I just want to find out if an email address has come into our system from an outside person. Is...

    Rename networked printer

I have a Win 2k3 file/print server that has all of our networked printers installed and all the varisous drivers for Win versions, etc. I want to install netowrk printers from this server to all clients and Terminal Servers. The problem is when you install the network printer, the name gets...

.local tyring to get to .com site hosted internally

Based on everyone's explanations, I will configure a forward zone to get this working for the shor-term. I will also investigate the firewall for any mis-configurations for a long-term solution. For what it's worth ... does anyone else use a Watchguard FB III/1000 that might want to lend some...

.local tyring to get to .com site hosted internally

Ok, when I try to add the alias in the internal dns tree, it is still tagged with .local information. How do you create a separate entry just for the .com information that is separate from the .local information? Does a new zone need to be created or can you have a .com alias in the .local...

.local tyring to get to .com site hosted internally

One more test ... if I edit my host file with the correct 10... address and www.mycompany.com, IE opens up just fine. Remove the entry and it does not work. This has to be DNS right?
