problem found, The ethernet port is dead(hardware problem) I configured tcpip to another port, It works. Thanks for reply to this message. Junz -

Boot RS6000(AIX 4.3.3.10). operation panel show "581" System hang for a few minutes. Finally get to the login screen. login and found tcpip doesn't work. ping loopback is ok, use ifconfig to show en0 is up. but can not get to other machine, can not ping this from other machine either...
