Can you automate RGB>CMYK conversions and resolution corrections?

Thats great - but what if one chooses to output a packaged InDesign file with fonts and links?

Can you automate RGB>CMYK conversions and resolution corrections?

When preflighting, I've always thought it would be SUPER handy to have an action (or similar) that simply runs through your document, changing all RGB images to CMYK, resolution to 300dpi if needed, and resaved as a copy in TIF format, then relinked to the new 300dpi CMYK TIF file. I know you...

Can you create new Table Style from an existing table?

I understand that you can import pre-existing table styles from other documents... ...but can you create a new table style from a table which you have just created and formatted - as you can do with Paragraph Styles for example? I cannot seem to find how to do this. I just want to format my...

How do you approach long documents/annual reports?

Fair play, and yes, usually I will have a copy of the year's previous document from which my initial assumptions re. length, content and pagination are made. A question: would you frequently simply import styles wholesale from a previous, similar document and simply modify them for the new...

How do you approach long documents/annual reports?

Sure, I agree with you wholeheartedly - but if I had a dime for everytime I've had to design something (usually annual reports) while the content is still being written... (Or for everytime I was still waiting for content 1 week AFTER the supposed print deadline!) Yes, definately - the content...

How do you approach long documents/annual reports?

I'm kinda interested to hear how others approach this fundamental design task. I'm always keen to pick up some tips that might help me work in a more efficient manner with larger projects. I haven't had much experience in this area and would appreciate some pointers from more experienced...

Uneven spacing between Japanese Dots on table strokes!!!

Thanks for that - I'll run some tests tomorrow... ...but on the sound of it, it looks lie it is simply the way our crappy laser printer is interpreting the dots. Cheers!

(screen grab) Can you see where the purple dots are bunching up where each cell meets on the horizontal axis?

Uneven spacing between Japanese Dots on table strokes!!!

CS3 Like I said, the issue is most visible in the printing, moreso than the screen....and if it is visible on screen, it is only so when zoomed out siginificantly. When zoomed in, the dots are evenly spaced....hence...I'm baffled!

Uneven spacing between Japanese Dots on table strokes!!!

Argh....this is baffling me! For my table styles I have used the Japanese Dots stroke option. When I zoom in on the dotted strokes, it appears to have even spacing between all dots.... ...however... ...when I zoom out there appears to be a slight glitch in the spacing, where the edge of each...
