aborted due to inactivity
re "Auto" for the mode/frame-type and network speed. BEWARE - we had several servers configured to auto detect but our switches (unknown to us at the time) didn't support auto sensing and the NICs defaulted to Half-Duplex. This caused the backups to run very slowly. This was fixed...- dangerman

back up speed.
we've had a similar problem recently - backups appeared to be running OK for some machines (expecially the local server) but very slow for other machines (down to 20Kbps!) It turned out to be that some network adapters were set to Half-duplex. While this didn't present a problem in every day...- dangerman
