Matt is a good guy, I use him for parts and information.
Spin Motor errors indicate that the Spin Motor (this is what rotates the prism in the laser a very high speed) is going bad and needs to be replaced.
Power Supply problems can also cause Spin Motor errors if the power supply is not putting...
This is an imagesetter hardware problem.
AccuSet 1000's are good machines, but over time certain parts will need to be replaced.
Locatd a good local service tech and have a PM (preventitive maintence) done on the machine.
Common problem areas are: Spin Motor, Power Supply, and dirty optics. The...
You need to modify the USER BOOT file to change the standard defaults of your RIP.
Change the default Line Screen to 133 (or whatever you use most) and change the resolution to 2400.
The USER BOOT file allows you to modify many of the operating parameters of your RIP.
Are you printing directly...
If you are having trouble getting into the Agfa website then try this:
Go to www.agfa.com, the click the support link at the top right side of the page.
There are three different drop down windows that you can use in the resulting page that let you search their site.

Try shutting down, then turn it on and hold down the "c" key on the keyboard--keep it held down until you see the startup screen. That will force the iMac to boot from the CD.

Here is Agfa's solution to our common problem:
"Hello.
Thank you for your inquiry.
The Viper 1.9.2 is one of our older level 2 RIPs and will not have any PPDs developed for OSX. We would recommend upgrading to a current RIP that's compatible with OSX and WinXP. Would you like someone to...

Under OS X, the "Automatic" PPD selection doesn't work...
Tuck,

An...
Tuck,
The "Upgrade" for Quark 6 from version 5 is only $200, but I agree, why get it if nobody is using it.
SunshineGal,
You can use an older, yes older, PPD with InDesign and Illustrator under OS X. The older PPD is called "AC0800.PPD". This PPD will not give you the PSE...

Go to Adobe's site (www.adobe.com) to their downloads section and look for the PPD section. You will find a listing for AGFA. Download it and in it are PPDs for all of AGFA's imagesetters, but these are ones that I never saw before...
What PPD have you been able to get to work under OSX?
I have an Agfa Accuset 1000 Plus with a Viper RIP.
Print Center will not recognize the PPD, and my Mac sees the RIP, but hangs it up trying to commuicate with it.
All I want to do is make PostScript files that take advantage of what my...
