use the following, already included with NetBackup
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/tar +help
this will tell you all the flags supported by tar.. NetBackup used this version for backups provided your backups are being backed in tar
following are the possible scenarios:-
I don't think it is your drive, check the ribbon cable where your robot drive connected with the back plane scsi connectors, a minor fault in them can cause these.
2. Try using a different media for a test
3. Scsi parity errors or data phase errors...
