Thanks for the acrobat tips. However, I'm a little concerned about using that method. I used Marcus' tip to combine all my chapters, and ended up with two pages less than I had in my separate chapters (12 chpts, 392/390pp). It makes me wonder if there's some kind of pagination bug in Quark 6. If...
Anyone know how to combine chapters into a single document in Quark 6 for windows? I didn't realize I couldn't create a single pdf file by printing all chapters from my book to the acrobat distiller. Now, it looks like the only solution is to combine all the chapters into a single Quark project...
Rob,
Unfortunately, the only criteria I have for finding the string is the font formatting (i.e. Arial, 10pt, not bold, not italic, rgb(0,127,0))which is unique to these "links". And yes, the paragraph mark can be between any of the words. Finally, some strings have the paragraph...
Skip, thanks for the code. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention two key pieces of information.
1. I'm working in Word 2k
2. The strings are always different

I'm trying to create a macro that finds a string of text with unique formatting and line spacing, and then converts it to a link. It would not be all that tricky except for the fact that some of these strings of text are broken by a paragraph mark in the middle. For example, "Accessing the...

Just open the Outlook Contacts folder and choose Tools | Mail Merge to open the Mail Merge Contacts dialog box. If you want to use only selected contacts make the selection before you open the dialog box.

Thanks for the responses.
George, I've already tried that approach. I used the Find feature to create to the original macro that isn't working.
Tony, I tried your code and am still running into the same problem. The macro still fails to find the selection. It's probably something I'm doing...
I need to create hyperlinks from strings of text selected based on font formatting. I've created a macro that finds the string, adds a path to the beginning of the string and a .doc extension to the end (the documents don't exist now, but will be created later), and copies the revised string to...
I'm trying to create a Word 2k macro that locates a paragraph based on the left indent as well as the font formatting, and then changes the style. Unfortunately, the Find fails, so the Find.Execute commands are applied to the currently selected paragraph. Code as follows...
I'm not a vba coder, just a frustrated word 2k user. I can't seem to use the Find/Replace feature to locate text with specific paragraph formatting. Specifically I need to locate text based on its indent.
I check the paragraph for its indent using the Format | Paragraph command and apply the...
Has anyone else experienced the problem of losing the last paragraph when importing Word 2k docs into Quark 6(win)? I've found that I can cure the problem by saving the doc in the word 6.0/95 format before importing to quark. However, I'm concerned that I may be losing something else. Does...
