The report is rendered one page at a time; the scrollbar only goes the length of a single page.
Yes, I did re-run the report. (Thanks for checking.)
[I found "Use Indexes..." and the option is on.]
Ah, well. Page N of M is not the answer. Replaced that with Page Number in the report and got the same performance. Also checked the other reports and they too use Page N of M but perform adequately (as noted initially).
CE9, FWIW, displays the first page as Page 1. Only when you navigate...

Yes, it is using page n of m. As to filtering and sorting, anything is possible; I'll have a developer look at that. (This report has been in production since 2004, maybe.)
Would there be any specific difference between CR9 and XIr3 that would account for 15 second vs. 15 minute...
I am just starting to migrate Crystal reports into BOE XI R3, using the CMC to add the reports from the file system. With each new report, I create a recurring schedule and a run-now instance.
The first four reports performed well. The fifth seemed to hang the browser when viewed. I eventually...
mopacfan: Is that 1-row QL and 2-row tasks?
stduc: OK, I cut it back to 50 by getting rid of some things I don't need anymore. But I'm a developer and maintenance programmer with my fingers in several (too many) technologies. So I've got all the standard Office icons, email, emailstripper...
Close, thanks, but this only saves the size. I'm wanting the (top-left) position fixed as well, so that if I open two windows - say 2 Word docs - the second window is directly over the first.
BTW, what does the Shift or Ctrl do? File/Save or File/Close has always been enough to store the window...
The default behavior of Windows is to cascade windows as they open. Can this be disabled so that each application always opens its window in the same place? This is particularly desireable for multi-window apps like IE, Word, and Windows Explorer.
The only way I've been able to do this in the...
After all the effort, I'm not sure I want to try again. But, I believe it was a matter of unlocking (of course), dragging to 2 lines, then dragging the QLbar handle down over the handle of the taskbar, and the 2 toolbars switched places. Then, drag the top edge of the toolbar up to make 3 lines...
When faced with the aggravation of Microsoft willy-nilly changing usability features, "Well yes, thats standard behavior" feels like an insult, but I doubt it was intended as such.
Anyway, I did come up with another alternative to mopacfan's dilemma that will hopefully work as I add programs to...
CE 9 calls it an APS (Automated Process Scheduler, I think). The CMS was introduced in version 10. We're using an Oracle 10g database for it. The server has been having some performance problems, but should have the necessary resources. We will be migrating to a higher-powered server in the near...
procReport was copied from prod (working) to dev (broken) already so both have the same version: 9.0.1.773, 3/10/05, in C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\win32_x86. (There are other copies and versions in the Patches folders.)
Symantec Anti-virus is running. What are you thinking...
I had pretty much done that twice before, but without the reboot. I also used a slightly different configuration of the fingers. I even copied the jobserver files from the working server to the non-working one.
With the reboot after deleting the jobserver, and the crossing of the fingers...
View on Demand: Yep. It works. (DHTML and ActiveX viewers)
VOD/Interactive DHTML: Yep.
My simplest report also fails when scheduled. It queries a 1-row table as (Show SQL Query):
SELECT "FIN_PARAMETERS"."DB_NAME", "FIN_PARAMETERS"."SOURCE_DB", "FIN_PARAMETERS"."LAST_UPDATE_DATE"
FROM...
The -trace option is not documented in the online help, but it did show the following:
[Wed May 03 16:36:53 2006] 5148 3068 assert failure: (Y:\backend\jobserver\dlls\procreport\src\crpemgr.cpp:1815). (0 : procReport.dll: Unknown exception caught: caused by: CrpeMgrPEOpenPrintJobWithAPSInfo)...
And be wary of making too many changes. We heavily customized the CSP pages in CE9, only to find that CE10 was different enough that it was not cost effective to upgrade the customizations. I don't even want to look at the implications with XI. If we do upgrade, we will suffer with the...
I'm not knocking BO Support; the tech that assisted me went way overboard in trying to solve the problem, including several hours spent in Webex sessions. But CE9 is technically off support as of April 1.
Naturally, "nothing has changed," but it's a large environment where *something* may have...
Thanks, Kingfisher.
The service packs are up to date for CR (sp6), CE (sp5), and W2k3 (sp1).
C:\Temp has one 1.2MB file. C: has 20GB free.
We've given everyone full control over C:\Temp and subfolders.
All in-house reports fail. Interestingly: The CE sample reports do not fail. Our reports...
We have been running CE 9 for several years and suddenly began having total processing failure with the error message, "The request could not be submitted for background processing. File C:\temp\procSched\devserv2005.report\~tmp...rpt."
This applies to ALL reports run under CE, and the failure...
