Ok, I'm back. Just your average guy thrust into office manager-tech support...
My boss has Outlook; but for the last several weeks he has had a problem. It all started with a SPAM email that became a reoccuring problem; as in he would delete the email and it would re-appear again. Long story...
Scroce,
Sorry I didn't get back to this earlier, I've been out from work. I just tried your remedy creating ContactID2 and deleting the old ContactID, making the ContactID2 my primary key and renamed it ContactID.
I double checked all the entries and they are now sequential and in order...
OK, I am working on changing the key field (Contact ID) to a number field so I can renumber. Now I get the message that I cannot change or delete because it is a part of one or more relationships.
Our database has a few tables and all were made in the design wizard, all are related by the...
Steve,
That sounds pretty darn close to what I am looking for. I will try that out and post my results here shortly.
Thank you both for such quick replies. I really appreciate this forum, tek-tips has saved me quite a few times.

Thanks for such a quick answer, but that's not quite what I need. I want to remove the old contact ID numbers (that are sequential but varied ie: 2, 5, 9, 14, 25, 47...) My contacts themselves are in alpha order, not the contact ID #'s. I want to remove them and re-number them in order 1, 2...
Ok, here goes. First off, I am by no way proficient in Access, it just happens that I am the best person in our office to get it done. That being said, I am not even sure if this has been covered elsewhere on the forums.
We are using Access 2002, our database became corrupt when my boss was...
My co-worker's system has Outlook Express running on a Dell, with Windows ME. His outlook receives email, but there is no message showing in the preview pane, nor when he actually opens the email message.
Any ideas or suggestions??? Thank you!
here's the kicker for this situation:
one of the other office computers was having the same problem, but he runs XP. so i checked on here for more details on his OS, went through same checks as noted above.
finally, i decided to contact my service provider to see if they are reporting any...
BINGO!!
Thank you very much Carrr. The trojan removal program you recommended worked like a charm. It actually found several trojans that my symantec has not found....ever.
I've already recommended this forum to several of my friends who deal with tech issues as well, you all have been very...
well, i finally think i found out my problem. did another virus scan from www.trendmicro.com and found a virus not found by my symantec.

garebo,
actually i do have AnalogX POW! running as my popup killer. i checked the sites to block, but do not see any of my clients pages on the block list. i've also stopped the program from blocking, and still have trouble accessing selected client sites.
i'll keep checking before i...
carrr,
thanks for the advice. i've done as mentioned in the support article, even so far as to check my registry keys.
i do notice an improvement on speed of opening the browser window, and hitting a hyperlink in an email also works now.
but i still seem to have some issues on selected...
Sorry if this question has already been posted, but I'm relatively new here. Not really a tech person, but I run a few computers at my office.
I recently did a Windows update for IE6, running on Win98 system. Now I have a very difficult time opening some browser pages, and most links in...
