I am on the business side of providing requirments for a reporting application and I just received some perplexing perfomance stats from the Database team. The execution time (database run time only) was as follows for the 4 different levels of data.
Region 65 , Division 651, Territory 65100...
A few months ago, I downloaded the MS Office 2007 beta from microsoft. If you are on XP, it might solve your problem since the new version of Excel can handle a million rows per tab. It was only $1.50 so you may want to give it a shot...
Thanks Fenrirshowl,
This is close. I would like the final output to be a list that would show up on the spreadsheet of all the tab names and pivot table names. I am not very proficient with VBA and the only thing I could add was the active sheet name, which is not the true location of the...
Below is an example of some data that I would like to rank using MS access. It would be similar to using the window funstions of other database applications. Does anyone know how I would create an expression to come up with DATE_RANK?

Nevermind on this question.
I just figured it out. If anyone is interested, you can disable the automatic formatting by doing the following:
1. Click on Tools-->AutoCorrect Options
2. Select the "Autoformat as you Type" Tab
3. Uncheck the last box under the Apply as you work section...
It may be that the cell is formatted to text
Can you check the format of the cell to see if it is text? If so, reset the format to general (or some other appropriate formula). You will have to enter and exit the cell to see the correction take place.
When I cut and paste linked cells or charts from Excel into PowerPoint, it autofits all the other text boxes, charts etc. Is there a way to be able to paste (paste special, links) into a Powerpont presentation without impacting any of the other objects on the slide?
Thanks,
Sam
I am using MS Access to query an Oracle database using an ODBC connection. The query returns an error after 60 seconds that says that the user cancelled execution of the query. I am pretty sure that there is a ODBC timeout set to 60 seconds somewhere within Access but I cannot find out how to...
Correct Thomas. That's what I have.
I dont' want to have separtate series for each of the YTD points since I have a data table as well. I am working ona macro that seems to be working at first run.
Sub RemoveYtdLine()
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart1").Activate...
Hi Thomas,
I was able to remove the lines connecting the zero values by using a formula to evalutate the cell to #NA if the value is zero. My chart look like yours but it connects June to the YTD.
Sam
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your reply,
I tried what you suggested, putting in
='Monthly PTP'!$AB$4:$AN$10,'Monthly PTP'!$AO$4:$AO$10Unfortunately, the result is the same and it connects June 2006 to the YTD datapoint.
I just saw the FAQ that shows how to not display zero values so that part is solved (apologies for not seeing that earlier).
I am now left with the challenge of finding an automated way to delete the line connecting the trend to the "YTD" data point. If it helps, the constant is that the YTD...
I have a line chart with month on the x-axis and a Percent Metric on the y-axis. I would like to keep the x-axis static with 12 months (Jan 2006 to Dec 2006). I have data for the first 6 months and do not want the graph to plot the months without data (July - Dec). Basically, there would be a...
Seems like your ODBC connection is still referencing the old location.
Try resetting your ODBC driver. go to the
Start menu-->
Settings-->
Control panel-->
Administrative Tools
and double-click on the Data Sources (ODBC)icon. Find the ODBC connection (Should be on the...
I have a horizontal bar chart that has division names on the Y-axis. Can I individually format one of the names to be bold or a different text color? I would like to do this without VBA if possible
Thanks,
Sam
