how to nat internal address to dmz

Hi, I would like to give LAN access to a web server on the DMZ. We have a webserver on the LAN with ip 192.168.20.199, and we want to move it to the DMZ. The DMZ is subnet 192.168.70.0. Can we create a NAT so that the 192.168.20.199 address still works once the server is in the DMZ with a...

    replicating to DMZ

i believe robocopy is obsolete, i am using xcopy currently for domain member servers, and xcopy i think took the place of robocopy. for my implementation of xcopy, i needed a mapped drive, which requires adequate permissions. this wasn't an issue for domain members. the other option i've...

    replicating to DMZ

Does anyone have suggestions for replicating/synchronizing data between a domain server's file share and a non-domain server in a DMZ? We want to put a webserver in the dmz and off the domain, but we need to copy files there every hour. Thanks.

    two interfaces sharing same wan?

thanks, i think i've worked it out today. i had to use a combination of vlans and access lists. not sure if this is the best method, but it seems to work so far. the switch module is the 4ESW by the way, and IOS is 12.4. my router only has one routing interface. so i had to make 2 vlans and...

    COPY file to all computers

Mark, does the user have to be a local admin on their workstation when running from a login script? I would like to copy a custom hosts file to "\\machinename\c$\%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc". Thanks.

    output circuit breaker cause

They are SU3000, both about 50%. One is a newer version SU3000. After calling APC, they suggested it might have been a massive surge from the wall that tripped both UPS. Everything has been fine since then, so I'm hoping it will not re-occur.

    cisco webvpn certificate problem

I've just enabled webvpn on our concentrator 3005. I followed the cisco configuration guide, but when I open the address in a browser, I get "unable to authorize certificate". There is no login prompt and the only thing I can do is close the window. Has anyone seen this before?

    output circuit breaker cause

I had 2 APC ups that tripped their output circuit breakers. This didn't turn each UPS off, but shut off power to the recepticles, which in turn shut off all the servers connected to those recepticles. The manual says this is caused when the connected loads exceed the protected receptacle’s...

how to change password and update database

Does anyone have an idea of how to allow a user to change their password and at the same time update a field in a database (preferrably access)? I think this would have to be done with a script or maybe asp. Thanks in advance.

net time command shows wrong domain controller

From a client, when issuing the command "net time" by itself, it results with the incorrect domain controller which is in a different site. This domain contrller is not the pdc emulator. How can I set the authoritative time server to be the pdc emulator as I've read it should be? Thanks

    site-to-site vpns - which cert

I don't know if this is backwards or not, but I'd like to get better at site-to-site vpns without concentrators. Router-to-PIX or Router-to-Router using ipsec. Can anyone tell me which certification/training covers this area? I've tried to ask cisco directly, but they are telling me the Cisco...

how to let IT staff admin without danger

So if add to account operators group, that doesn't let me exclude them from controlling, for ex. the accounting groups. If I want to exclude certain objects I have to take the OU approach. Is there a specific right, Kenny, to assign on the OU, or just full control for the IT staff? Thanks.

    ESX Hardware considerations

I'll add some more thoughts to bump this once, but this forum may not be active enough yet for ESX... Suppose I purchase 3 host servers. Then I put 4 VMs on each. If one host goes down, I can move 2 VMs each to the remaining active hosts, providing a level or redundancy. Do you think this...
