Thanx for the reponse. As it turned out the ISP that the FTP site was located on BLOCKS everyone save for their own subscribers:) Good suggestions though. EX- exerslow

I am having trouble setting upmy girlfriends computer so that she can access my FTP server. She has a dial-up connection and I have most of my experience with cable modems. Her WS-FTP or Smart FTP times out while logging in and gave an unknown error when I boosted the time spent logging in...- exerslow

I can't seem to get my girlfriends dial-up to connect to my FTP server. I use it all the time at my office but I have cable there. It just usually times out when logging in or reports an "unknown error". I tried both Smart FTP and WS-FTP. I know it's probably something simple...
