    Outlook 97 and lost contact/calendar files

    Your *.pst file is crucial as it is your main file. I am not sure with 97 but you should have either a *.wab or *.pab or something like that for your address book. You need to also find that file, back it up, and then reinstall 97 and everything should work out ok. Hope that helps

    What service pack are you on? I have seen this issue with earlier versions of Outlook and I updated to SP3 via the Office Update page and it fixed my problem. I would check that first and then go from there.
