    Linux data-recovery application?

Thanks...the top one looks good, although is Windows 2000/NT FS the same thing as "NTFS?" Thanks again.

Client for searching a Unix box from a PC?

Hello, experts: I have an Ultra80 on my network with 18GBx2 disks that I've used often as a dumping ground for files I need to move off my other machines (PCs). Does anyone know if there is a client that can work over, say, FTP or telnet that could allow me to execute Windows-style file...

    Linux data-recovery application?

Here is my predicament. I used CD-based KNOPPIX to boot up, and mount a (Windows XP) NTFS volume that had become unbootable. Sadly, the volume was pretty much gobbledygook. Any floppy-based Linux apps that you know of that might be able to work on the problem of getting that drive readable...

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

I'm sure it's bad form to bump, but I was curious if anyone had had any thoughts as to a floppy-loadable Linux-based recovery application? Apologies and thanks!

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

Bill- Thanks. I did rate it a 10. Harv- the pc-card does sound like a good idea. Burt- I am going to take a look. All - I got the drive mounted using Knoppix but it returned gibberish. Said the drive was 92GB, for one thing. I tested booting Knoppix with my identical, uninjured new...

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

I hadn't thought of it that way. Good observation. OT: Bcast - just read your FAQ on OEM vs Retail Windows. Good stuff. I want to paste that to a few customers' foreheads! :)

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

Downloading knoppix as we speak. I don't know that the adapter is necessarily a better option than the software route, but I will turn that way next. Thanks. BH

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

Hi, The Ultimate Boot CD = no joy. Had the same tool that has already failed for me: Active@ NTFS Reader.

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

Bcast, Thank you for your post. So, if I understand your suggestion, 2, and what I've read so far, you're suggesting creating a bootable cd that should be able to mount the NTFS volume? Sorry to parade my ignorance but my head is spinning a little after reading up on Knoopix and ultimate Boot...

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

There is a typo above. I meant to say that, under the same set of circumstances, I reinstalled Windows and got in just fine. Now I cannot as there is not enough space.

Mount an unbootable NTFS drive? !!HELP!! Tough one.

Greetings Experts, I have an NTFS drive that does not boot into Windows. It's a physical error that has been dealt with by getting a new drive. However, there are one or two VERY VERY IMPORTANT pieces of data on there that I need to get off. Cannot reinstall Windows, as there is not enough...

    onClick(?) help please

Hello, Experts! I have a form with several sections. In each section, there are required fields that need to be filled out or my code will choke. Adding "* Required" to each section of the form would be misleading and confusing since the fields only need to be completed if a person...

Need cmb to change based on another cmb

Hello Experts! Basically I need a combo box, when a record is opened on my form to look at another combo box and display a value based on the other combo box (box did that come out unclear!) Here is the If block, which may make things clearer: If Me![CmbRankOrRating].Column(1) =...

Concatentation with military rules...extremely tricky :O(

Greetings! I have a form which enters information on members into our database. I am attempting to generate a datum called "SALUTATION" which is a member's Rank or Rate/Rating and name. The rules for this become extremely complicated. Let's start simple. For example, "BM2...
