We are having problems with the balancing between the inventory value in the MSF170 vs. both the General Ledger and the Inventory Stats reported through MSR179 using the MSF175. I have been trying to trace this back and wondered if anyone had found specific bugs or situations that I might look...
We have taken the same approach as Calator and have left the base processes the same, but customized reports. In some cases - for example price changes, we combine the audit results from more than one MIMS table to be able to see the entire effect of what was done, i.e. was a price change made...
We use the audit facility pretty extensively for the system control file, tables, security and establishment; purchase order pricing changes, equipment register, and others. We have made a minor change to the mscobol script to ensure you always use the audit definition file with compiles and...
Does anyone have a system setup for recording cumulative program usage statistics from MIMS? We have a simple TP line query command to save results to a text file appending the days together. While rudimentary, this at least gives us a file of what is being run and is useful if we want to know...
We really already have a method for reviewing who has access to what with the profiles that works fine. The problem is a better definitiion of what each program is and does. Especially with so many programs, having a new system with some functions not yet in use, etc. it is difficult to be...
We really didn't find anything in our testing. We did install the identified work orders in the standard formal distributions made by Mincom when that information became available. There were none of those work orders in the maintenance area - most of it was in financials and AP.
What I think would be helpful would be to add a much better description of the program to the spreadsheet (or maybe keep this in a database) so that you could better take a look at what the program does if you are not familiar with it. I'm going to check with our South American affiliates to...
We are looking for an improved way to allow our business owners to review the way access is set within MIMS with how programs are tied to the global profiles. Currently we use a spreadsheet to help make the task somewhat easier, however with as many programs as there are and the complexity of...
Thanks, Glen. I suspect with our relatively low number of users we will be fine, although I do monitor the number of concurrent sessions for Oracle license monitoring and this will undoubtedly increase that number...

Currently, we have our timeout interval for inactive terminal servers (user sessions) the t5 parameter in the %TIMING entry in TPNAMES.TBL set to 30 minutes (1800 seconds). I believe Mincom distributes the table set at 20 minutes. My users would like for me to increase this setting, but I was...
I was wondering if we could share briefly the types of Y2K testing we have done with MIMS. At my company we are running MIMS 4.1.1 on AIX with Oracle 7.3.3 and 3.008-2q for the TP.

We have Y2K tested in three separate sessions. The first time we worked through our internal interfaces...
Does anyone know what the status is of the CD-Rom to be provided by Mincom of the recent technical workshop presentations? I was wanting to put out a summary of the events for distribution within Exxon and wanted to include it. Thanks!
Has anyone developed customized views for the allowing more straightforward access for users in different streams for MIMS-Vu? I was under the impression that the views would have been customized by Mincom as part of the product, but that does not appear to be the case. We are getting ready to...
