I had tested the range with my laptop moving through my house and it seems to not exceed 35-40...
OK... I got the router working and I made several security changes like assigning a mandatory WAP, and limiting access to my network by the MAC number of each NIC.
I need now to assign the IP addresses of each computer manually in order to have the option to control the access to the Internet...
It worked!!! It was so simple... an IP conflict between the router and the modem... both had the same IP and even noticing it, I did not believed that was the problem.

Another thing that I did not mentioned is that on Step #5 I never found an option for the router... only an "IPCP bridge= Yes" option that already was like that so on Menu #1 I never changed anything
