Not sure where to start here. Server has lost all connectivity for no apparent reason. We have a 2003R2 server with 2 network cards as our VPN server. One card has a static IP (called VPN inbound) the other card is dynamic. The “dynamic” card cannot get an IP address. If I try an ipconfig...
Does anyone have a list of quality mail smart hosts for SBS 2008?
I have a Dymanic IP and need to purchase a Dynamic DNS service anyway, but also need a mail smart host and perhaps an MX backup.
I've read all the products available at DynDNS and they look good. Any alternatives?
Thanks,
Jeff
To "DaveToo" and "2ffat".
I agree 100% with both of you. I'm just the independant contractor and this company won't take any suggestions from anyone.
I WILL take their money at double time for 5 hours last night.
Thanks,
Jeff
After going to the site last night, I found the Primary DC had gone down again. Dead power supply. After I got it back up, all systems are fine.
Thanks
I don't know if this is the correct forum, but here goes.
I've got a client that has 6 W2003 servers, plus 1 Unix server and 4- 24 port network switches. The power was out for about 10 hours Saturday night, but is on now. All servers shut down "gracefully" since the APC software worked.

After opening the GP Editor, I was a little shocked to see several settings under Console Root in foreign languages. Some are English, some are French, others I don't recognize.
The "settings" pane is in English. Any explanations or ideas appreciated.
Thanks
Yesterday I installed SP 1 on 2 computers here that are running Vista Business. All worked well, and no issues. All I did was disable my anti-virus and spyware programs.
I downloaded the full install package from the Microsoft Partners site.
I have 2 other computers (1 a laptop) that have...
Dave & Mark,
Thanks for the education today. Some things I knew, others I had forgotten, and still others I never thought of. Please keep it up.
This could be exam 70-282.99

Pat, thanks for your opinion. I'll save the swing method for more complicated setups.
Dave, thank you, that's the information I needed. I had forgotten about moving the workstations to a workgroup to avoid problems and some of the other steps.

Hello all,
I'm replacing a 5 year old SBS2003 server with a new one. The new one came factory loaded with SBS2003 R2 standard. This is only a 3 user office. (XP Pro)
This company currently uses individual POP3 email accounts. We will be using Exchange on the new one as they have purchased a...
I'm using Exchange 2003, sp2 and also Trend Micro's Client Messaging Security on this server.
No one from this company can send out to a Quest account which uses q.com as the domain name.
I understand some of the problems with 1-3 letter domains. Is this problem internal with Exchange...
I recently built a new computer. Did a clean install of Vista Business.
While building and installing everything, I had an Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 (1.86) CPU in it. When I put it into service, I upgraded the processor to a 6600 (2.4GHz)
Device manage still shows the 1.86 processor. It their any...
I service an HP Vista Business machine that will reboot when told to shut down. Stand alone PC connected to a cable modem. No other network involved.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
I have three different "paid" anti-virus programs running on my 3 Vista computers here. All work well.
NOD32 v 2.7 - smallest footprint and fast, no firewall. Nice product & recommended highly.
Kaspersky Internet Security - Very strick and works well but doesn't play nice with the on-board...
