    Calling a numerical file name

Hi again. One more question. The way taht you suggested works fine on the internet, but I am trying to do one know for offline use. I have it working fairly well, except that there is slight blink while the picture loads while the movie is playing. I was planning to fix this by loading all...

    Calling a numerical file name

Do you know if there is any way to do some sort of error-checking code or something to allow me to add code that executes when a picture cannot be loaded. I want to be able to make a slide show that lets me swap pictures and vary the number of pictures that I use without having to change the code.

    Movie slider?

Umm... I guess I am just slow, but I am having trouble getting this thing to work. I have read all the help files and stuff (half of it goes right over my head) but it will not control my movies. It either does not appear or appear with all the pieces of it all mixed up and in the wrong places...

I want them to load all at once so that I can scroll them across the screen. I can name them whatever I need to, but I don't know how to concatenate or to get it to recognize my variable as a part of the file name. I am confused...

    Calling a numerical file name

I am using the .loadMovie() command to load JPEGs into a Flash slideshow. The JPEGs are pictures labeled with numbers (#.jpg) and they are located in the same folder as the Flash file. It is working fine if I type this.loadMovie("1.jpg") but I want to be able to use a variable to...

Stopping a clip until a variable becomes true

Thanks. That is working great and is saving me a lot of grief. :-)

Stopping a clip until a variable becomes true

Does anyone know of a way to get a movie clip to pause until a global variable becomes true (triggered by a button or event in another clip)? Currently, I am using a messy system that involves two keyframes with the same contents that appears stopped but is actually playing in a loop back and...

Pausing a clip, including the nested clips?

Thanks for the help. That worked fine.

Pausing a clip, including the nested clips?

I have learned everything I know about Flash by experimenting, so I apologize if my practices are not conventional. I am trying to make a button that will pause my entire movie, but when I make a movie, I usually have so many movie clips nested within one another in such a tangled mess that it...
