I created a user defined protocol for the rpc/http ports and created an access rule on the isa server to allow the exchange servers to communicate using this user defined protocol and all works.
now we need to upgrade to 2006 to take advantage of the web listeners ability to fall back to Basic...
Hello,
My Front End Exchange server is on a "perimeter" network and the Back End Exchange server is on a "internal" network on the ISA server. There is a third network named "external" that is connected to the Internet.
When attempting to connect an Outlook 2003 client on the Internal network...
OK - good luck.
I asked about the contacts being created programatically because I have seen where certain attributes are not stamped correctly in that process.
Are these contacts being created programatically?
I would take a look at the objects in ADSI edit. Look at the attribute named showInAddressBook.
There should be a value for the GAL similar to this:
CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists...
I would try rebuilding the RUS as well. I tend to believe that object lives in AD somewhere.
Do you know the path of where the object did exist in AD? If so, I would try navigating to that location in ADSI edit just to make sure it's not there. (connect to your GC and connect to the domain...
AS suggested by Marcs41, it sounds like the software is looking for the existince of a value in specific attributes of the Contact in Active Directory in order to populate the contact in its list.
If this is the case, a work around may be to enter a character in the Full Name field of the...
If you can confirm the Distribution Group/Mail-Enabled Security Group does not exist in AD, and this is actually appearing in the users Address List, my next question would be: are users viewing an Offline Address Book?
If you are using Microsoft Outlook in Exchange cached mode, then users are...
Hello,
I may need to migrate a Merak messaging environment into an existing Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 environment.
The challenge is finding an alternative solution to Merak's mailing list functionality. The server can create and manage custom mailing lists by querying a remote SQL...
I need to order the hardware sooner than expected. The new cluster will be connected to a SAN.
I'm thinking that each node of the cluster will have dual HBA's incase one fails. Is this necessary on a clustered setup? I'm not clear if the node fails over for hardware issues or only for...
Hello,
I have a project with the following goals:
1.) Upgrade SQL Server to the latest version. Currently running version 8.0 (is that sql 2000?)
2.) Migrate SQL Server to new hardware for high availability. Will run on a cluster connected to a SAN.
I am not a SQL Admin but will have...
Thanks aquias.
Seaspray0 - while you make a good point about the Help feature which I point out often, the purpose of posting here is to find an efficient solution to a problem and avoid telling users to hold the power button to shut down the system. I reserve that for when there actually is...
Thanks. I saw this but was looking for a way to keep the ability to restart so this won't work. Creating a scheduled task is an option for the restarts though but in this environment it would be important for them to be able to restart should their system have a problem.
thank you.
Is there a way to prevent users from shutting down a workstation while still allowing them to restart using Group Policy?
I want users to restart each night if they remember but I do not want them to shut down any workstations which prevents scheduled maintenance from running.
Thank you!
thanks for the clarification on the HBA's.
I'll be using this SAN for archiving messaging data so will probably use mid-range or tier2 storage. Just determined this from looking up tier1 storage.
I'm still wondering if I can buy a white-box enclosure for the array and build it myself or if I...
Hi,
I'm new to SAN's and storage but have been reading up on them. I would like to build an iSCSI SAN as that seems to be the leaset expensive way to do it. If someone disagree's, please let me know. (EqualLogic's start at $20K - $40K per their Sales Rep. for 2 - 3 TB's)
My understanding is...
They're already up to patch 11?
OK - great...thanks. Are there any microsoft articles that outline the usual esclusions for ISA? I'm new to it so I didn't even know there were transaction and database logs for it.
Thanks - good to know. I've deployed ePO and the clients are configured to pull updates from the ePO server on the LAN so I should be OK. Thanks for the info.
I'll have to look at GFI and what it does. Why does ISA server need its own anti-virus software? How does ISA server get infected?
I'm thinking anti-virus on the OS just because its a member of our domain. It is on a separate subnet but if ISA server needs anti-virus software, doesn't this...
Hi,
Where can I find documentation on installing antivirus software on Microsoft's ISA Server 2004?
i want to install McAfee's Virus Scan Enterprise 8.oi.
Thanks!
