If you have an XP or win2000 CD and the PC doesnt start when inserting the CD, you can try two things :
1) go into the BIOS and make the CD the first bootable device, then start the PC with the Win2000/XP CD and run the setup

As far as I know, you have to push the tape eject button uring power up of the system. The server will then interpret the tape as a CD boot device. I am not sure if this helps, but it is the procedure when doing a desaster recovery from tape
I have a similar problem with two mailboxes :
