sending email based on who is selected

Just an idea, this should do what you want, but maybe not the way you wanted it? The way I understand it, you have one master form which needs to be sent to the supervisor, security officer and deputy, in succession, to have them fill out their parts. It seems to me that instead of trying to...

can someone shed some light on this?

Well, based on the (bad) experiences you've had with your current host, you already know some of the things to look for. Looking at feedback can still help. You can't assume the host is a good one just because of good feedback, but if you see bad things about them, you can be more sure that you...

Login button on a public web site

If you decide the database/asp page is secure enough (and if your IT people are so paranoid, they will definitely say it is not) don't use access for the database if possible. It is the least secure of the database programs. "C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it...

Calling asp function when submit button is clicked.

You might want to do a bit of looking online before you post questions like that. Check out 4guysfromrolla.com , w3schools.com , asp101.com , or search Google for the onClick handler (if you want to call a script) or the "action" parameter for forms. "C makes it easy to shoot...

Login button on a public web site

I'm afraid that specifics and pricing are getting beyond my (limited) expertise on this subject. Since the security forum here is kind of quiet, I would recommend posting your question in http://www.experts-exchange.com/Security/ . They have some good people who may be able to help more. If you...

Login button on a public web site

There are a wide variety of ways to make a "Login" button on a website, with varying levels of security. I assume you want to have the user input something like username and password, then click to log in. I would say you need to send the login data through a secured connection...

ASP vs Frontpage - which one to use ?

FrontPage is fine for some simple connections, using their wizards and such. The problems start when you want to do difficult/complex things. I personally make everything in FrontPage, but I write most of my own ASP code in the HTML view, since the wizards are, IMHO, pretty worthless a lot of...

    Stopping generic http scanning

Other than blocking some ip's though, you really can't stop port scanning. If you have everything locked down and stay on top of things, you don't have anything to worry about. "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has...

    ASP error using FrontPage components?

what does the "2cap_coils.asp" file do? your error indicates that there is a .dll that isn't registered right (or you mis spelled it) somewhere where you have a server.createobject(), possibly in your "2cap_coils.asp" form handler page. try looking in there. If you need to...

    ODBC Error

i agree with JamesLean. I had the exact same problem, only I started with your current string and fixed it by changing to your first string. It is easier to fix the first error (whatever it was) than to fix your current error :)
