has anyone seen this too?
i launch apache 2 and i get 2 processes (a guardian and the root process for requests).
the request root process takes over the world with 90% or more of cpu time.
also, when i try to open documents through apache, the browser just keeps opening, and opening, and...
ok i got the error.
i used
ScriptAlias [...]
to define /php4/ when in cgi-binary.
but then i forgot to comment out the
Action [..] /php/php.exe line when trying to load the module. now it works.
silly me...

Ok, here's a killer.
I got apache 1.3 running on win xp.
Now, i followed the install notes to set up php 4.3 as a module in apache.
Guess what? Apache won't start.
It will start if i use php as a cgi binary.
Any hints?

cleanup all the log files as a starter.
if this doesn't change anything, re-install your php parser.

hmmm are you sure this php.ini file is in your windows folder? you may have been working on another file all along :)
by the way, i also have a problem with mail().
i can't get it to work on localhost but have the php.ini file set right.
