What do you guys use this for?
Kurz- To answer your question directly, I use After Effects to create animations to be used in local newscasts and to create promos for my station. Photoshop and Illustrator also come in handy.- RedCrow1973

Saving LowerThirds with transparent backgrounds?
Try rendering a quicktime movie with an alpha. You should be able to find a setting that will allow you to render with an alpha in the Output Module settings in the Render Queue. Preference file not saving
I'm using a brand new copy of AE 5.5 on a brand new G4 - and for some reason the preference file isn't saving. Each time I open the application, I get an error telling me the current preference file isn't valid and will be resaved with a ".old" extension - and that a new preference...- RedCrow1973
