Are you trying to use the CD as an Archive location in GW? If so, this will not work - GW needs to be able to write to the archive location (and it appears to test if it is possible).
You can
1. Archive your files to a network or local drive...
2. exit GW
3. burn the archive to cd
4. ...
We are using ZenImaging (ZfD3.2) and have run into this problem occasionally. The computers having the problem were latest generation of Compaq's Evo computers. We determined that the cd-rom drives in these new pc's were balking at the multi-session cd we used for distributing the image.

We stumbled upon this ourselves recently. Our Department (about 600 users) is running Netware 6, zfd3.2 and Win2ksp2; the rest of the agency is running AD/Win2ksp2. There users are able to roam and use their certs without re-installing / importing the certs. Ours (as you've indicated are not)...
