    yeah, that was my thought also :) I can run xclcock without a problem. pretty sure it's not with OV, I have other kde clients using the same box. how would i run opc? for these variables? another thought was the colors that hpov uses, 256? not sure how to get my xwindows to use the same...

    Hey vlan52, No firewalls involved, I'm connecting to the server running HPOV via ssh both machines are on the same subnet, xhost should allow me to connect, I'm thinking it has something to do with the xwindows settings on the FreeBSD machine I'm using to connect? but i'm not sure what that...
