I was able to remove all the old files. I've found the answer, which is "yes" I can remove the files. Any file that isn't named mmvol000006, can be removed from the /nsr/mm directory. The 19gb filesystem is now at 92%, which is far better that 96%. This morning the Legato media database crashed...
We are presently in the process of migrating our server and software from Legato 7.1. build 322 to Legato 7.2.2 Networker. I have 18gb allocated to the /nsr filesystem. I have 18 clients, and 10 of which are set for 3 month browse policy, and the other 8 are set for 1 month browse policy...
We will be migating from Legato 7.2 to 7.3. The migration will also involve replacing the server as well.
Both server are on the Network with individual server names. We would like to keep the old name as the backup server name and use it on the new server once the migration is complete.
Old...
We will be going to Legato 7.3 with a new Sun v240 server, solaris 10. We would like to script a backup, separate from our other backups, to let us know, when the Oracle Database is done queiscing. Once that is done, the backup server, via a script, would execute commands from to access the...
This is the procedure I've executed yesterday. However it didn't allow my new_client to pick up the old name. Does it also require that I add the old_client as an alias also?
I've tried your suggested method already, yesterday.
However I'm unable to see the indexes within Legato. i.e. when I...
What is the best way to change the name of client and use the same index that the old name was using and use it for the new name client in Legato 7.1 Networker?
Have any of you Tek-tipsters out there have any tricks that will allow the removal of a tape from a SDLT 320 drive once the drive is removed from an M2500 jukebox?
The drive has a tape stuck inside and Quantum provides only "Contact support" as a resolution to removing the drive.
I've attempted...
i've reset all drives to "not used" and tested the opertions, however they still function incorrectly. To answer your question, the previous version was 6.0.1. Also, I've checked the release notes and there is no reference to this being a loss of functionality.
To reiterate, the old version...
I've recently upgraded to version 7.1 of Networker. Since upgrading I've noticed that during an Inventory the software fails to unmount mounted volumes.
i.e.
If I inventory slots 1-83 and there is a tape in one of the drives that is loaded in slot 3; I then execute the Inventory of all slots...
I stopped the routed and all is well. It just seems awfully pecuuliar that the system worked fine all the time on a different subnet with the routed enabled. I've removed it from /etc/rc2.d as well. All servers can now access the SCO server from any subnet.
Thanks for your patience and support...
Are lines 3 and 4 identical in destination and gateway?
I also don't understand your reference of 248 for the netmask of the local network.
your table above says that your local network is
1#2.##.0.0 with a mask of 255.255.0.0
how different is the remote network?
255.255
you also should...
ok....routing is definitely the problem.
on the sco system, use the netstat -nr command.
Is there a "Destination" that matches the remote subnet?
NO there isnt!
if there is remove it.
route delete <destination> <gateway>
then try to ping/traceroute the client machine.
if this...
So in answer to my previous question:
your clients on the remote subnet are trying to telnet TO the sco server.
see what the results of the traceroute are, from both directions.
From a client machine, The first and last hop is the router, and after that it never reaches the server.
To the...
"The host itself" meaning the host in question. The "Host itself" meaning the SCO machine that is having the problems.
clarification...
there is a default route to the host as displayed with netstat -rn.
The router is pingable.
other hosts on this subnet can ping the SCO...
to answer your question stanhubble,
telnetting to a server outside the subnet shows the following...
Trying ###.##.#.##...
Then after several minutes it displays the following message.
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out
I've checked and there aren't any /etc/host.allow nor deny files. I'm pretty sure there weren't ever any TCP wrappers configured on this machine. I've checked and neither of the those files exists.
I've also tried changing the ip address but to no avail.
I'm skeptical about pointing at the...
I am rather new to SCO unix, however not to Unix in general. I've done all things imaginable to correct this problem.
Problem: Server not allowing requests to telnet from outside the subnet, but is working fine within the subnet.
Hardware - Dell Gxa1, O.S. SCO 5.0.5
