I have an unusual situation. The legacy communications where I'm currently employed has a backbone that contains several T1's with channel banks going to discrete MultiTech modems and servers with Cyclades cards. Specialized field equipment (There are thousands of them and all non PPP/SLIP) call...
This is one I haven't seen before. Searches of Tek-Tips and the Web have turned up nothing for me so far. Our contract manufacturer uses several of our PC's to scan and capture barcodes into an Excel form. All PCs have WinXP Pro @ SP2 and Office XP Pro (2002) @ SP3. A few, like this problem PC...
This started last week with one user having issues attaching to our NAS. Then it turned into everyone using VPN started getting a lot of Exchange server timeouts with Outlook. I rebooted the RRAS server and it reduced the connection timeouts but it's still extremely slow. When I test from just...
We recently acquired an Overland Express LBX with a single HP LTO-2 drive. Any operation involving a blank tape (inventory, quick erase, etc.) takes about 16 minutes. This is with both LTO-1 and LTO-2 tapes. Backup Exec 10 loads the tape, shows the job active and running but the library sits...
Skip, maybe I should back this up some. These BOM's were generated differently from our normal ERP built BOM's. I don't know the reason why, guess I should ask the buyer, but she pulled me in to see if the printing problem could be fixed.
Jim
Skip, reference designators are in one column so there may be several hundred of them in one cell.
A=BOM Level, B=Find#, C=Item#, D=Desc, E=Qty, F=RefDes, etc.
Jim
Skip, the BOM's are setup with one row per component type/value no matter if it's used once or a thousand times. What varies is quantity and component designators in the associated columns.
Pbrodsky, thanks! I just tried it and it works. The user will have to play a little with margins and...
Thanks for the quick response guys.
That's pretty much what I expected.
Skip, the BOM's are for large printed wiring boards and the culprits have been the decoupling capacitors. There are well over a hundred with 4 character length numbering, i.e. C001, C044, C101, etc.
Now the hard part, I...
I have a user that has several Excel 2000 spreadsheets used as BOM's (bill of materials) Several cells have over 1,024 characters but she can't print them. They are set for general text format with word wrap enabled. She can edit them no problem but nothing past 1,024 characters will print...
So close! No problem with the IOS but the multichannel modules we have are single T3's and only the dual versions support the option. Arrgh! I took a look at the controller configuration and there's definitely no option there.
BuckWeet, Thanks for digging so deeply into this one.
Jim
Yup, only 24 channels max. I'd already tried that and a channel group on this card logically spans just a single DS1. I tried to lump a bunch of DS1 into a bridge group but that stops at 10 maximum. Rats!
Do you know if an NPE-300 could handle the load running multi-link ppp? I'll try and talk...

The PA-MC-T3 is a multichannel T3 controller without clear channel capability. This was necessary as the routers will be used in various planned configurations using up to 14 DS1's. Is there another way to configure more than 10 DS1's (as virtual serial ports) and get full bandwidth...
Sorry that it took me a while to get the configuration from one of the routers. I was called in for jury duty and got sworn in on a criminal case. Here's the config from one router. I deleted the unnecessary stuff to keep the post short. Baddos, unless the case goes into early deliberation, I'll...
Thanks to everyone for all the assistance!
I can't say that I've looked at IMA because I'm unfamiliar with this term. As far as looking at buffer swapping on the serial lines, I'm not sure how to do this either. I've never had to use more than 2 T1's on a router before so jumping into a full...
I've tried it both ways when I was set up for IP routing. It didn't make a lot of difference, maybe 1.5 Mbit max. Just in case your were wondering I've also verified that traffic is fairly balanced among all DS1's. They all stay in the lower half of their maximum rate.
Here's the equipment. A pair of 7204 non-VXR w/NPE-200, 128MB DRAM, IO-FE and PA-MC-T3. I'm setting up some lab tests and need to pass Ethernet traffic over various T3 configurations hence the MultiChannel T3 card. So far using a full DS3 and depending on configuration (routing vs. bridging) I'm...
