errr.. i see now it must have been late when I wrote this..
I mean.. they like to change the folder options..
'customize this folder' ie.. add a background to it..
they have to have read/write/modify priveledges. .but how do I remove the ability to change the background? ie customize this...
Hrm.. Couple of thoughts.
1st.. TCP/IP properties.. make sure the primary dns setting (on th server) is to 127.0.0.1 .... which is local.
Obviously something is funky with the replies...

Also.. perhaps you ahve set (somewhere) a max users limit on a folder or device shared by the server.... I remember we did this in an organization and it left us baffled for a few hours...

Active Directory... create an organizational unit for the particular computer(s)
Move the particular computer into that unit.
Right click the unit> Properties...... Group Policy.
Create a group Policy
Computer Configuration>Windows Settings> Security Settings>Local...
How can I.. in a Windows 2000 Domain.. with Windows 2000 Clients.. Log off all users at a certain time? or log off after being idle?
Or shut down all machines after a certain time... I tried using the Windows RK for shutdown.. but all it does is go to a 'it is now safe to turn off your machine'...
I ahve users that like to change the redirected My Documents folder in one of my domains..
How do I prevent certain users from having this ability?
