    Swannswart modem that doesn't like the internet!!!

    I have a Swannswart modem and as soon as the dial-up screen logs that it is verifying user name and password it disconnects. The user name and password are correct and work on other comps. and there are no device conflicts. I'm stumped pls try and help. I'm running win 98 and i'm out of ideas.

    Why does my modem auto d/c as soon as it verifys user name and password when they are correct and work perfectly fine on another pc? It is a 56k swannsmart internal modem with a connexant chip. No coflicts are shown.
