    Thanks for the info. Arcserve support told me about the same thing - said to try newer driver or newer hardware. Seems like they're just 'passing the buck', but fortunately not a serious problem...........

    using arcserve 2000 w/SP2. during full backup, will write about 23GB to first tape (35/70 DLT IV), then start a 'sequence 2' and continue on a new tape....Has anyone seen this, and/or have a possible answer? Thanks! DougC
