I've been having problems trying to rdist between 2 servers. After several hours of running rdist quits with the error message "not enought memory available for requested operation" or words to that extent. This is on a 128 Gig file system.
I have even tried breaking out the rdist...

I think I know the answer to this one but hoping I'm wrong. I need to migratepv hdisk6 from a volume group for a complete disk swap (14 drives) on this RAID5 disk. I've been using migratepv -l moving lvs over to hdisk7. I've come down to 2 final lvs with file systems on them.

I have seen the same problem on 4.3.3. Some programs do this and I never figured out why some do and some don't. I have gotten around it by writing a shell wrapper around to start up my <program>, then nohupping that.
For example:
vi startwbsrv
#!/bin/ksh
/usr/webserver/start
:wq
nohup...
We run a similar setup using Informix and a rootvg and datavg. We did tests for performance having paging all on rootvg, split or all on the datavg. We found the best performance was when split between the vgs.
