Thanks 605.
Just to make sure - I can run each day different level (1, 2, 3, 4, 5...) and is this case I actually will run incremental from day to day?

Hi,
I have Legato 7.4.2 and backup EMC Celerra with NDMP.
I usually backup the Celerra Full or level 1.
Does NDMP supports other differential levels, so I can run level 1 and 2 with NDMP?

Hi,
I run Legato 7.4.2 on win2k3 server.
I backup NAS with NDMP on 3 drives and DDS licenses.
I run 2 backup sets of the NAS during the weekend (offsite and onsite).
After the save-sets of the first set (offsite) finishes, the indexes are not saved for more than 10 hours later, eventhough there...
Hi,
If I have a tape library with 50 slots, and license for 20 slots, what will happen?
Would I be able to use the library at all?
Shall only the first 20 slots be usefull (familiar to Legato)?
Thanks, Anat
Hi,
I'm looking for SRM software that can support hetrogenous envinroment (windows/linux/unix/cifs/nfs/databases) with ~25TB ans reasonable price.

Hi,
I've done it a lot of times. If you're using "directed recover" - just select the file to recover. If you're using "save set recover" you'll have the specify the file after selecting the appropriate saveset to recover -> "files" buttom on (the right)and specift the exact file including full...
Hi,
Thank you both (Chacalinc and 605), I'm only want to change the LEgato server platform. The restore of the client will be done to a client with the same OS as the one who was backed up originaly.
So I understand there shouldn't be any problem.
Please correct me if I misunderstood.

Hi,
I need to change the retention policy of ~80 clients that were backed up all in the same Networker servers.
The policy is going to be much shorter than today.
How can I enforce the new policy on old backups?
As far as I know - if I'm changing the retention policy, only backups running from...
Thank you both.
The solution was even easier: stop networker daemon on the server. Delete /nsr/tmp content. reboot the networker server.
That's it!!!

Hi,
We're considering moving our Networker servers from old HPUX 11 to Win2k3.
Any recommendations of do and don't do?
Can we migrate the indexes between those platforms?
Any reason to avoid this move (apart from the indexes history), like performance, stability...
Would you recommend of using...
When does client of Networker uses a license?
We have ~150 licenses for clients, and ~120 servers that being backed up today.
There are additional ~30 old clients (that are down for some time now), that still "use" license.
How can we "free" those licenses?

Hi,
Already run nsrck -L6, didn't help.
run also "nsrinfo -v -L client_name" on the Legato server, got "memory fault (coredump)".
rebotted the server - same result.

Hi,
We use an application that run this query (Illuminator), and it must run with this parameter.
I've tried to run it from Legato Server, from the client, to the screen or to file, and ir always cut in the same exact location.

Hi,
I've got some Windows Client running this command, and the output in incomplete, as if it hangs.
The last line (which is not the end of the output) in cut in the middle.
Any suggestions?

Hi Herm,
No problem - user directed recover, source - old data mover, destination - new data mover.
you can test it now, restore between 2 data movers (although they are all online).
Hope you'll succeed.
