Hi all
Just started working with Crystal after a gap of six+ years (I wasn't very good in the first place!) and have been handed what I think is a real 'doozey' of a problem.
Hopefully I can articulate it properly, so here goes..
I have a report which shows a student's provisional course...
Cheers Synapse
I did have the same thought, the db is oracle, the report generation is done via third party software which makes it straightforwared to select and link objects - but I've no idea how to force a row of data to be repeated.
I've not tried my hand with arrays so if that's the only...
Hi
I produce a timetable by grouping rows of data into 'slots' within a matrix - it looks a little like a cross-tab.
e.g. data looks like this:
PERIOD, DAY, NAME, NOTES
1,Mon,Monday 1,1
1,Tue,Tuesday 1,1
2,Mon,Monday 2,3
6,Fri,Friday 6,6
I group the data by PERIOD (max value 7, headers...
Not sure if the thread heading is accurate but here goes..
using CR 8.5
have rows of data which include an unique ID, date and also a time field (amongst others).
I've grouped the records by date and expect to see the time and other fields listed in the details section for each unique id (1...
Thanks chaps
the if statements worked a treat Zathras, why do we (*I*) always look for a more complex answer!! :D
Hi ETID, the crosstab unfortunately does not work because the real data would have hundreds of actual values and permutations (too many column headings), sorry I never mentioned...
I have a dataset in this format
Person1, value1
Person1, value2
Person2, value3
Person2, value4
Person2, value5
but need it to look like this
Person1, value1, value2
Person2, value3, value4, value5
Because the values are variable a normal crosstab/pivot does not work and because the the...
8.5 as at last arrived, I'll try the suggestions already given on Monday or Tuesday.
as a recap,
each row of data (referring to an ACTIVITY) has a start date field, an end date field, and a week pattern field (a text field of 1s and spaces) where 1s represent a single date within the start...
I warned you my explanations would be poor ;)
I'll try and explain, firstly this is for a college timetable .. each of the rows in the database table represents a timetabled class (an activity) which takes place ONE time a week, and thats every week between the start and end dates (anything...
Hi Synapse, I'll do my best but as a beginner I'm not sure of my explanations or which information aids you or not.
The core date is 1 table called ACTIVITY. Activity has the date fields 'Startdate' and 'Enddate', and the text fields 'Name', 'Room', 'Staff', 'day, 'weekpattern' and 'block'...
I've been trying to come up with a solution to this for sometime but with no result.
I have a report in crystal 7 which returns timetable information. It compares a parameter date range (startday and endday) to each timetabled activity startdate and enddate, and shows the data if the...
The more I read the above the less sense it makes! Perhaps a little more relevant info...
The main report is an access table which includes an id field (which is also a Group on the main report), within this group/section there are two subreports, the first another access database (using the...
Hello again,
I have to write a disclaimer at this point..I'm a novice with Crystal and I'm sure the terminology and my understanding of it is poor so please forgive the longwinded explanation of my problem.
I've created a report in Crystal Reports 7 which draws the main data from an Access...
eesh..I've discovered the answer!!!
A quick search of these forums and an lo behold an excellent response by scriverb to a similar question and all the worlds problems are as the wind :D
and works too ;)
Hi Everybody
I'm looking into the possibility of creating access reports and labels which when printed would include a unique image for each record. Unfortunately the images are not stored within any database but only as a file path/location string attached to each record.
In effect, at...
