    is there a maximum number of lines that a pl/sql block can be? i've heard that only ~2500 executable lines of code can be intrepreted by the compiler? anyone have experiece whith this?

    ya, I believe the telnet module has replaced the expect module, and the expect module has become obsolete

    what os are you using, do you want it to sleep for 5-10 minutes or schedule it to run every 5-10 minutes, I think some more info would help
